The light and airy three-room apartment on the embankment of the Fontanka river is not only a marvel of a peaceful haven amidst the urban bustle but it is also an ideal base for multifaceted explorations of the Venice of the North. The unique eighteenth century Sheremetyev Palace is just across the river, the much famed Russian Museum, the ornate Church of Our Savior on the Spilled Blood, the Big Philharmonic Hall, the Field of Mars and the Summer Gardens – all these prominent Saint Petersburg landmarks are within easy walking distance. Nevsky Prospect with its enormous department stores, premier restaurants and cafes and night clibs is just seconds away. The apartment is on the third floor of a five-storey building and is comprised of a particularly spacious living room with an adjoining kitchen (34 sq m), two sizeable bedrooms (28 and 27 sq m respectively) and a nicely decorated bathroom (5 sq m). The bedrooms are furnished with double beds, bedside tables, a bureau and wardrobes. The living room has a fold out couch which can conveniently be transformed into a bed at night. So, the apartment can be a comfortable place to stay for six people. The kitchen has all the necessary modern appliances: an electric stove, a microwave oven, a refrigerator and an electric kettle. In the bathroom you will find a bath, a washbasin and a toilet. The apartment is also furnished with a big screen TV set with a satellite dish, a DVD player, and a stereo system. Unlike the kitchen windows overlooking the courtyard, the bedroom windows face Karavannaya Street and Nevsky Prospect but due to double glazing the apartment will provide the weary explorers with peace and undisturbed rest at night.
