One of the stations of Moskovsko-Petrogradskaya Linia - the second line of Petersburg metro, constructed in 1961, that run from northern city parts (Vyborgsky District) to the southern districts (Moskovsky District and Kupchino). 27,9 km long, the Linia which is assigned Blue on the map consists of 17 station - Prospect Prosveshenia, Ozerki, Ydelnaya, Pionerskaya, Chernaya Rechka, Petrogradskaya, Gorkovskaya, Nevsky Prospect, Sennaya Ploschad, Tekhnologichesky Institut, Frunzenskaya, Moskovskie Vorota, Electrosila, Park Pobedy, Moskovskaya, Zvezdnaya, Kupchino. The Pionerskaya station, located on the junction of Kolomyazhsky prospect, prospect Ispytateley and Bogatyrsky prospect, was constructed in 1982 to the project of architects V.N.Sherbina, Y.Pesotsky, A.S.Getskin, V.G.Sokolsky, and it was named so in celebration of 60th anniversary of Pioneers’ organisation.
